HAVE QUESTIONS?

I want to control some of the doors at my offices. What are my options?

You have a variety of options. Firstly, you have to decide how many doors you want to control initially, and how many you are likely to want to control in the future. You need to decide if you want to link a variety of sites together, so that a person can be given access rights to a variety of doors in a variety of properties – the ‘One Badge’ principle.

There are a whole host of solutions, from a single door keypad, to 1000+ door, IP networked systems.

What Types of CCTV Cameras are there?

CCTV cameras are available in monochrome (black and white) or colour. The different types of cameras are Board CCTV cameras, Bullet CCTV cameras, Fixed Dome cameras or Vandal Proof cameras, Fixed CCTV cameras (also known as Static cameras), Zoom cameras, PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) cameras, High Speed Dome cameras and IP (Internet Protocol) Network Cameras.

How does fingerprint biometrics work?

When an employee is first enrolled in a fingerprint-based biometric time and attendance system, the software records a template of the employee’s fingerprint and associates that template with the employee’s ID number. This template measures the relationship between various points in the fingerprint.

Each time the employee attempts to clock in or out, the time and attendance software verifies that the newly scanned fingerprint matches the template originally stored for that ID number. If there is a match, the punch is recorded.

When is the best time to switch to accounting software?

You can start using accounting software at any time. However, the easiest time to move to software (or switch packages) is at the start of your company’s financial year.

If you can’t wait that long, and your business is VAT registered, the next best time is at the end your VAT quarter.

Having said that, some accounting software packages allow you to enter or import data from other sources. This lets you move across a complete record of your transactions, so you can keep all your data in one place.

What are some of the uses of fiber optic cabling in the business world?

The biggest use is telephony, followed by CATV, then LAN backbones, connecting hubs. Next is connecting remote video cameras for security systems. The building management and security systems are switching to fiber in many buildings due to distance and EMI requirements. Fiber is not often used to the desk because it is perceived to be too expensive, but it allows a system without wiring closets, making the cost less in most instances. Gigabit Ethernet will drive even more fiber into networks, since UTP applications will be too difficult to install.

What are some common ERP features and benefits of using ERP?

Towards the beginning, when ERP systems first came into the market, these systems were primarily designed for inventory management. Today, however, ERP systems are used to automate back-office tasks and streamline cross-departmental workflows. The modern ERP system has extended well beyond its original functions and now comprises of a full suite of integrated components that provide modern businesses with the tools necessary for streamlining operations. All of these components can become a bit confusing, especially if you’re not well acquainted with the software.

One immediate impact of implementing an ERP solution is the systematic and uniform flow of business data and information across all departments in an organization. Being provided this real-time information allows you to make better business decisions and ensures you that all the information and data is completely up to date and precise. Many business organizations get a step ahead in real-time analysis with complete access to standardized and reliable data.

How an IP PBX / VoIP phone system works?

A VoIP Phone System / IP PBX system consists of one or more SIP phones / VoIP phones, an IP PBX server and optionally includes a VoIP Gateway. The IP PBX server is similar to a proxy server: SIP clients, being either soft phones or hardware based phones, register with the IP PBX server, and when they wish to make a call they ask the IP PBX to establish the connection. The IP PBX has a directory of all phones/users and their corresponding SIP address and thus is able to connect an internal call or route an external call via either a VoIP gateway or a VoIP service provider to the desired destination.

At the center we have, the IP PBX. Starting from the bottom, we see the Corporate Network. This is the company’s local network. Through that network, Computers running SIP clients such as the 3CX softphones, and IP Phones connect directly to the PBX. On the left, we see the company’s router/firewall connected to the internet. From there it can connect to remote extensions in the form of computers running the softphones, remote IP Phones, mobile devices running the 3CX Android and iOS apps, and Bridged PBX’s. Using a VoIP provider we can connect to the PSTN network. To the right a VoIP Gateway connects the PBX directly to the PSTN network.

How Many Computers Can Share a Wi-Fi Network?

Most wireless access points and routers will support up to 225 computers or devices to be connected, however, this is not recommended as network performance will suffer and it is much more advisable to install multiple access points to distribute the network load.

What are the advantages of payroll software? Why should I use it?

Payroll software is one of the greatest time saving tools available to today’s business owners. Payroll software calculates state taxes, federal taxes, and other deductions for each employee in your company. It directly deposits funds into bank accounts and issues paychecks to employees. Paychecks include all required deductions and some payroll software even guarantees these deductions are accurate.

What does a Managed Support Service Provider do?

A Managed Support Service Provider (MSSP) is a third-party company that manages and assumes the responsibility of a defined set of IT and technology management services to its customers. It is a strategic method of improving operations that is commonplace among large corporations as well as small and medium-size businesses, non-profit organizations, and governments. As an MSSP, our Team can act as the client’s IT Department or can simply augment the IT staff that is already in place.

What is the difference between a static site and a dynamic site?

Static Web pages always look the same and the content rarely changes. To make a change, you must create the page yourself or request a Web designer to do it for you. The newly created page and any images must then be uploaded to the Web servers.
Dynamic pages are the opposite. They can change every time they are loaded (without anyone having to make those changes), and they can even change their content based on what your website visitors do.
The dynamic page can be created to respond to information entered by your site’s visitor. They usually store and pull information from an underlying database.
Dynamic sites can reduce ongoing maintenance costs if you don’t want to change things yourself with a Web page editor. They usually cost more to develop, as they require more complex coding. A content management utility also needs to be developed to help you manage your site.
Many clients have a combination of dynamic and static elements in their sites. For instance, they might use dynamic pages for a product catalog where they have to change information or pictures regularly. The “Contact” and “About Us” pages are often left as static pages.

How could my business benefit from custom software?

A custom business software solution increases process efficiency through process automation. When business processes are properly automated, they minimize the waste in time and resources that the original processes contained.

Think of it this way: with software that already exist, you have to modify your process to meet software capabilities. With custom software, you can build a system around the existing processes you have in place. You took a lot of time to develop those processes, so why should you revamp your business?

What's the difference between Shared & Business Hosting?

Shared Hosting is a regular low-cost web hosting solution suitable for the vast majority of personal and small business web sites, and is provided under our Solo and Startup plans. For those customers with demanding or high traffic sites, or for those looking to host a web site with faster speeds, Business Hosting is recommended – these are all the plans with “Performance” in the title. These plans include more resources (up to 5 CPU Cores & 8GB RAM) and also include caching technology to make sites incredibly fast, with LiteSpeed server-side page cache, along with Redis and Memcached backend caches.
